After he was unable to make any further progress in tennis and football due to injury, a new challenge was needed. Because Alex has always enjoyed running and road cycling, triathlon seemed perfect. In the meantime, he is one of the top athletes and has been able to achieve sporting successes such as top 3 placings in the amateur category at the Challenge Roth 2019 and the Ironman Hamburg 2021.

In addition to his sporting successes and large weekly training volumes, his professional success is not neglected either. Since 2017, Alex and his two co-founders have launched the Incylence brand, selling stylish socks for cyclists and runners. He says of himself that perhaps his greatest success lies in having built up an environment and structures that allow him to balance sport and career and also still give enough time and energy to his family.
"My favourite discipline always fluctuates between cycling and running. What I like most about running is that it's so efficient and you can do it anywhere with very little equipment and it has a good appeal in a short time. But nothing beats a long, easy bike ride in awesome weather... ;-)"
Alex has been part of the CURREX crew since March 2022. His hometown is Hamburg and of course we have used the opportunity to challenge Alex on our treadmill in the 5D-LAB several times. Most recently, Alex was able to test all of his running shoes with us in the LAB to find out which shoe gives him the highest running economy.
The result is unsurprising and 5D-LAB expert Liesa also confirms: "We run best with the running shoe we feel most comfortable with and which offers us the highest comfort as runners."
