Set goals, stick to them: how to master your annual resolutions
Annual resolutions
Ahoy CURREX friends! The turn of the year is just behind us, and with it comes the time for good intentions. But let's be honest: how often are our ambitious plans already history by February?
We have the ultimate strategy for you to really change things in 2025!
1. think like an athlete - your success plan
Successful athletes don't set themselves vague goals - they develop concrete strategies. So, instead of "I want to do more sport", define measurable goals such as: "I will run 5 kilometers twice a week" or "I will take part in my first 10-kilometer run".
2. the SMART formula for guaranteed success
- Specific: concrete goals instead of vague resolutions
- Measurable: Define clear key figures for your progress
- Attractive: choose goals that really motivate you
- Realistic: stay down to earth, but challenge yourself
- Time-bound: Set yourself intermediate goals and deadlines
3. the step-by-step approach
Big goals are achieved in small steps. For example, divide your annual goal into quarterly goals. Are you training for a specific event? Start with smaller goals that you can realistically achieve and systematically work your way up at your own pace in increasingly larger steps.
4. accountability is the key
Find a training partner* or share your goals with friends. Maybe even directly on social media! Not only is training more fun together - you're also more likely to stay on the ball! Take us with you on your training journey and tag us on Instagram @currex.de!
5. progress tracking
Document your progress systematically! Documenting your successes is worth its weight in gold and makes it easier for you to keep track of what you have already achieved. With longer processes, it's easy to forget where you started. Use apps to make your progress clearer. Preferably with detailed statistics, so it's easier to stay on the ball. We have listed 5 of our favorites here:
- Strava - Especially for runners and cyclists the "runner's Facebook"
- Runkeeper - Especially for runners, cyclists, swimmers, skaters and many more!
- Nike Run Club - offers a selection of training plans, guided runs with audio coaching, and much more.
- Freeletics - Contains a selection of different workout variations with a focus on HIIT workouts
- adidas Training by Runtastic - Offers a mix of strength and endurance exercises and even yoga!
For those of us who like to write, a fitness journal is a cool way to keep track of even the smaller successes. In addition to your progress, you can also record how you felt during training, how high your heart rate was during exercise and how you slept last night.
6. the reward strategy
Reward yourself for your achievements to stay motivated. Plan specific rewards for milestones achieved:
- As a kickstarter at the beginning: professional equipment such as the CURREX RUNPRO to avoid the risk of strain injuries
- After three months of regular training: new sportswear
- After six months: A wellness weekend for regeneration
Celebrate every success - no matter how small it may seem. These positive reinforcers will help you stay on the ball in the long term!
7 The setback plan
Setbacks are part of it. The decisive factor is not the fall, but getting back up again. Have a plan B in your pocket and stay flexible.
Remember: every world-class athlete started out small. With the right strategy, realistic goals and the right equipment, nothing stands in the way of your success in 2025!
